Fanuc 13 - Illegal speed command
Alarm 013 occurs when the CNC control receives a spindle speed (S-code) or feedrate (F-code) command that exceeds programmed limits, is improperly formatted, or is incompatible with the current machine state. This is typically caused by programming errors such as out-of-range values, missing decimal points, or speed commands issued in inappropriate modes.

ILLEGAL SPEED COMMAND
Fanuc PS program alarm 13: ILLEGAL SPEED COMMAND. This alarm is triggered by an illegal or incorrectly formatted command in the part program, or a programming condition that the Fanuc control cannot execute.
Root Cause Summary
Alarm 013 occurs when the CNC control receives a spindle speed (S-code) or feedrate (F-code) command that exceeds programmed limits, is improperly formatted, or is incompatible with the current machine state. This is typically caused by programming errors such as out-of-range values, missing decimal points, or speed commands issued in inappropriate modes.
Safety
Causes and Fixes
Identify the exact line number where the alarm triggered by checking the control display or program cursor position.
Review the S-code (spindle speed) and F-code (feedrate) values on that line and compare against machine specifications and parameter limits (check parameters 3741-3743 for max spindle speed, 1430-1432 for max feedrate).
Verify decimal point programming is correct - ensure G96 (CSS) mode has appropriate surface speed values and G97 (RPM) mode has appropriate spindle RPM values.
Correct the S or F value to be within allowable limits and restart the program from a safe position.
Always verify spindle direction and workpiece clearance before restarting after correcting speed commands.
