Siemens 75270 - RCTR: tool parameters incorrect on interpolation

RCTR: tool parameters incorrect on interpolation

On interpolation incorrect tool parameters are detected: Control reaction: NC Start disable in this channel. Alarm display. NC Stop on alarm.

Root Cause Summary

Alarm 75270 fires when the NCK detects inconsistent or invalid tool offset data during block interpolation on the 840D controller. This occurs when tool parameters loaded into the active tool table do not match the geometric or kinematic requirements of the current interpolation cycle, or when tool data corruption exists in the tool memory (TM) or tool magazine database.

Safety

  • Only qualified personnel should diagnose and clear control alarms; follow the machine builder's safety procedures and lockout/tagout where hardware work is required.

Causes and Fixes

  1. 1

Navigate to Diagnostics > Tool Management in HMI or access the tool table via PLC (typically in user memory area for tool data). Verify that the active tool has valid non-zero offsets and that TLO/TRO values are within machine limits defined in MD 32100-32199 (tool offset ranges).

Do not manually edit tool offsets while a program is running; stop execution first.

  2. 2

Check SD parameters SD 32000-32099 (active tool offsets in current channel) for corruption. Use Siemens SINUMERIK diagnostics to read these SD values and compare against the tool table source. If values appear random or excessive, reinitialize tool data via HMI Tool Management > Reset or reload from backup.

  3. 3

Examine the NC program block preceding the alarm for T-commands (tool selection) and D-commands (offset register selection). Verify that the D-offset register matches an offset row in the active tool's offset table and contains valid geometry data.

  4. 4

If using tool changer integration, verify that the PLC tool change logic (typically in Cycle 32 or OEM-specific tool change routine) correctly updates the NCK tool offset registers. Check that the M06 (tool change) sequence completes before the next interpolation block.
