Siemens 75025 - CLC: stopped because sensor head has been touched

CLC: stopped because sensor head has been touched

The collision monitor of the sensor tip has signaled "Sensor touched". A retraction motion to the upper limit of the position offset ($MC_CLC_SENSOR_UPPER_LIMIT) is started using the max available velocity and acceleration reserves. The feedrate override setting has no effect on this retraction motion. The path motion is stopped at the same time Control reaction: Alarm display. NC Stop on alarm.

Root Cause Summary

Alarm 75025 fires when the CLC (Collision Detection System) sensor head detects physical contact with a workpiece or obstacle during probing cycles. The NCK immediately initiates an emergency retraction motion toward $MC_CLC_SENSOR_UPPER_LIMIT using maximum velocity/acceleration reserves, bypassing feedrate override to ensure rapid sensor withdrawal.

Safety

  • Only qualified personnel should diagnose and clear control alarms; follow the machine builder's safety procedures and lockout/tagout where hardware work is required.

Causes and Fixes

  1. 1

Verify workpiece position and orientation in the chuck. Confirm Z-axis clearance exceeds $MC_CLC_SENSOR_UPPER_LIMIT + probe safe distance before re-initiating probing.

Do NOT manually jog the spindle downward while sensor is in contact; use automatic retraction via cycle restart.

  2. 2

Review the NC program sequence: check G65/G25 probe call parameters (particularly approach vector and expected contact height) against actual fixture geometry using part drawing coordinates.

  3. 3

Inspect sensor tip for physical damage or debris. Clean contact surfaces on workpiece and re-run probing cycle with reduced feedrate ($MC_PROBE_FEEDRATE_SLOW in SD 42540).
