Siemens 70001 - Channel Yf is larger than distance C1-Cy
Alarm 70001 indicates that during JOG mode operation, the Yf axis position has exceeded the maximum permissible traverse distance defined by the C1-Cy parameter span. This violation occurs when the JOG command pushes the axis beyond its configured mechanical or software limits, typically due to incorrect limit configuration or calibration drift.

Root Cause Summary
Alarm 70001 indicates that during JOG mode operation, the Yf axis position has exceeded the maximum permissible traverse distance defined by the C1-Cy parameter span. This violation occurs when the JOG command pushes the axis beyond its configured mechanical or software limits, typically due to incorrect limit configuration or calibration drift.

Causes and Fixes
Access Diagnostics menu: Siemens HMI > Diagnosis > Axis Data > select Yf axis. Verify current position against displayed limit values (C1 and Cy). Note the actual traverse range being attempted.
Do not jog beyond current position limits during this check.
In NCK parameters, navigate to MD32100 (C1 lower limit) and MD32110 (Cy upper limit) for the Yf axis. Compare configured values against mechanical drawing specifications and encoder calibration documentation. Calculate C1-Cy span and verify it matches machine capability.
If limits are incorrect, update MD32100 and MD32110 with correct values. Save parameters using 'Store to NVRAM' function in machine data editor. Perform warm restart (NC RESET) to activate changes.
Verify new parameters with machine builder before restart to prevent mechanical damage.
After restart, perform slow JOG movements in both directions near limits to confirm alarm no longer triggers. Monitor position display in real-time diagnostics.
