61803

Siemens 61803 - Block : Programmed axis not available

Block: Programmed axis not available

The programmed axis is not in the system Control reaction: Interpreter stop NC Start disable in this channel. Interface signals are set. Alarm display.

Root Cause Summary

Alarm 61803 is triggered when CYCLE83, CYCLE84, or CYCLE840 attempts to program an axis that is not declared in the NCK axis configuration or is not available in the current channel. This occurs when the programmed axis identifier does not match any configured axis in the machine tool's kinematic structure or when the axis is assigned to a different channel.

Safety

  • Only qualified personnel should diagnose and clear control alarms; follow the machine builder's safety procedures and lockout/tagout where hardware work is required.

Causes and Fixes

  1. 1

Access Siemens HMI > Service > Machine Data > Axis Data (or use NCK Diagnostics menu). Verify MD10100 and MD10110 entries match all programmed axes in the cycle call.

Ensure axis names in the NC program exactly match the configured axis identifiers (case-sensitive).

  2. 2

Cross-reference the cycle syntax: CYCLE83/CYCLE84/CYCLE840 requires axis parameters to be defined. Check the cycle parameter list in the part program against configured axes.

  3. 3

If axes are missing, add them via Machine Data Editor: Select channel > Axes > Add axis with correct MD10100 value and kinematic assignment (MD10200 for axis type).

  4. 4

Reset NCK (warm or cold reset as appropriate) and retry the cycle block to confirm alarm clears.
