Siemens 840D 61411 - Channel block: frame calculation impossible, check values

Channel block: frame calculation impossible, check values

The alarm is triggerd by the following cycles: CYCLE997, CYCLE119 Remedy: Check the setpoint and actual values

Safety

  • Refer to Siemens documentation
  • Ensure qualified technician performs repairs

Common Causes

  • Invalid or out-of-range coordinate values in the part program block
  • Incorrect tool offset or tool length compensation values
  • Workpiece coordinate system (WCS) not properly established or calibrated
  • Negative or zero values in frame calculation parameters where positive values are required
  • Inconsistent kinematic chain configuration or axis limits preventing frame calculation

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Review the part program block at the indicated line number and verify all coordinate setpoint values are within valid machine limits and of correct sign
  2. 2Check active tool offset values and tool length compensation using Diagnostics > Offsets menu; compare setpoint values against actual tool measurements
  3. 3Verify workpiece coordinate system is active and properly set using G54-G59 commands; re-establish WCS if necessary using machine reference point approach
  4. 4Examine CYCLE997 or CYCLE119 parameter entries in the calling block for negative values, zero divisors, or mathematically impossible frame transformations
  5. 5Confirm axis soft limits and kinematic parameters in Machine Data are consistent with machine configuration; perform a machine reset and retry the block
