Siemens 840D 61350 - Channel block: feed, speed not programmed in _MFS for tool

Channel block: feed, speed not programmed in _MFS for tool

Siemens SINUMERIK alarm 61350: Channel block: feed, speed not programmed in _MFS for tool. This alarm indicates a fault or error condition on the SINUMERIK 840D control. Refer to the Siemens SINUMERIK alarm documentation for the complete description and remedy.

Root Cause Summary

Alarm 61350 fires when CYCLE971 (tool measurement cycle with rotating spindle) executes without feed rate and/or spindle speed values defined in the GUD variable _MFS[2]. The NCK cannot proceed with synchronized tool measurement because required kinematic parameters are missing from the measuring feedrate structure.

Safety

  • Refer to Siemens documentation
  • Ensure qualified technician performs repairs

Causes and Fixes

  1. 1

Open the part program or GUD initialization block. Locate the CYCLE971 call and trace back to identify where _MFS[2] should be assigned.

  2. 2

Add explicit assignment before CYCLE971 invocation: _MFS[2]=550,3500 (example: 550 F/min feed, 3500 RPM spindle). Verify both feed and speed values are present in the array structure.

Feed rate must be in active unit system (mm/min or inch/min per MD1030); spindle speed in RPM must comply with spindle capability limits.

  3. 3

Verify _MFS array declaration in the GUD table. Check Diagnostics > Program > Variables to confirm _MFS is defined as REAL array with sufficient size (minimum [2] indices).
