Siemens 4300 - Declaration in MD is not allowed for axis .
Alarm 4300 fires when a machine axis is declared with conflicting kinematic assignments in the Machine Data configuration. This typically occurs when an axis is simultaneously configured as both a slave axis in a gantry group (MD32100 GANTRY_AXIS) and also declared as a competing positioning axis, creating an impossible operational state in the NCK interpreter.

Declaration in MD is not allowed for axis.
The axis cannot be operated as competing positioning axes, for example because the axis is the slave axis within a closed gantry group or a gantry group to be closed Control reaction: Alarm display.

Safety
Causes and Fixes
Access Siemens SINUMERIK 840D HMI menu: Diagnostics > Parameters > Machine Data. Locate axis configuration for axis %2 and note the referenced MD parameter number from the alarm message.
Check MD32100 GANTRY_AXIS for axis %2. If set to 1, verify MD32102 GANTRY_MASTER_AXIS identifies the master axis. If gantry is active, the slave axis cannot be declared independently.
Do not modify gantry MDs while machine is in automatic mode or axes are moving.
Review the conflicting MD declaration. If axis %2 must operate independently, set MD32100 = 0 (disable gantry slave mode). If axis must remain in gantry group, remove the competing positioning declaration from the referenced MD parameter.
After corrective MD changes, perform a complete Machine Data reload via HMI (System > Cold Start > Machine Data Reload) or restart the control. Verify axis can execute independent positioning via MDI or test program.
