This alarm occurs when the drive's actual position is negative due to incorrect counting direction or piston zero alignment, requiring program or setup correction.
Siemens 310610 - Axis drive wrong piston position
Axis drive wrong piston position
The error is triggered if the actual position of the drive is negative. Cause: - Incorrect counting direction of actual position on drive side. - Incorrect piston zero alignment. - If the drive is referenced and the offset between the piston zero (piston stop at A side) and the machine zero is entered in MD 5040, the piston position in MD 5741 can only indicate positive values (from zero to piston stroke length) Control reaction: Mode group not ready. The NC switches to follow-up mode. Channel not ready. NC Start disable in this channel. Interface signals are set. Alarm display. NC Stop on alarm. Channel not ready.

Safety
Causes and Fixes
SAFETY: Power down and lockout
Turn off machine power, engage lockout/tagout procedures, and ensure all motion has stopped before accessing drive parameters.
Check drive configuration
Verify the counting direction setting in the drive parameters using appropriate diagnostic tools.
Adjust direction
Correct the counting direction if reversed in the drive setup. Document changes made.
Test and restart
Clear the alarm, perform manual jog test at reduced speed in safe area, then restart the program only after confirming proper operation.
