Access the tool management system and navigate to the tool offset data table for the active tool number.

Check parameter $TC_DP6 (number of cutting edges) for the called tool and edge. Verify it contains a valid positive integer value (typically 1-99).

If the value is zero, blank, or contains non-numeric characters, enter the correct number of cutting edges for the tool (e.g., 2 for a 2-flute endmill, 4 for a 4-edge insert).

Save the tool data, reset the alarm, and restart the NC program from a safe position.

Navigate to commissioning mode and access the tool management initialization menu.

Backup all tool data before performing any database operations to prevent data loss.

Export current tool data to archive file using the tool management backup function (if accessible).

Check file system integrity using the diagnostic buffer and event log for NCK or PLC file errors. Look for error codes related to tool data corruption.

If corruption is confirmed, restore tool data from a known good backup or reinitialize the tool database and manually re-enter critical tool parameters.

Reinitializing the tool database will erase all existing tool data.

Review the NC program line where the alarm occurred. Check the tool call syntax (T command) and verify the tool number and D-offset number are correct.

Verify in the tool management system that the called tool number exists and has valid data assigned to the specified D-offset/edge number.

If the tool or edge does not exist, either create the tool data entry with correct parameters or modify the NC program to call an existing valid tool.

Reset the alarm, reload the corrected NC program, and execute from a safe restart point.
