Okuma OSP Alarm P 0945 - Memory board/battery life

Memory board/battery life

The battery of the memory board has reached the end of its service life. This alarm warns that parameters, offsets, and programs could be lost on power-off unless the battery is changed soon.

Common Causes

  • Battery in the memory board exhausted after normal service life
  • Battery drained early by long power-off storage or a board fault

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Read the code number shown with the alarm: code none = Battery of memory board finished its service life
  2. 2Back up all NC data now: parameters, tool offsets, programs, and user data, because a finished battery can lose everything at the next power-off.
  3. 3Obtain the correct replacement battery for the memory board before opening the control.
  4. 4Swap the battery on the memory board, then reload the software and user data as the manual directs; if your procedure allows battery swap with power ON, use it to keep memory contents.
  5. 5After replacement, clear the alarm and verify the battery monitor shows healthy.
  6. 6Record the replacement date so the next change is scheduled before this life warning returns.
