Okuma OSP Alarm A 1071 - Memory board battery depleted. Replace quickly!

Memory board battery depleted. Replace quickly!

The battery on the NC memory board has finished its service life. This battery keeps parameters, offsets, and programs alive when the machine is off, so the control warns you to replace it before data is lost.

Common Causes

  • Memory board battery finished after its normal service life
  • Battery drained prematurely by long power-off storage or a board fault

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Back up all NC data now: parameters, tool offsets, programs, and any user data, because a battery that finished its service life can lose everything on the next power-off.
  2. 2Obtain the correct replacement battery for the memory board before opening the control.
  3. 3Replace the battery with the control powered ON if your machine's procedure allows it, so memory contents are preserved; otherwise be ready to reload the backup.
  4. 4After replacement, clear the alarm and verify the battery voltage monitor or status bit shows healthy.
  5. 5Record the replacement date so the next battery change is scheduled before this service life warning returns.
