Okuma OSP Alarm P 0861 - MCS Inverter capacity differs from spec.

MCS Inverter capacity differs from spec.

The inverter unit installed for the indicated axis or spindle has a smaller allowable current than the current limit written in the servo data file. In other words, the servo data expects a larger drive than the hardware actually fitted.

Common Causes

  • Wrong servo data file loaded for this axis (data for a larger motor/inverter)
  • Inverter unit replaced with a smaller-capacity unit than the original specification
  • Servo data file corrupted or mismatched after a control software change

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Read the code number shown with the alarm: code 1 = Fixed code — inverter allowable current is smaller than the servo data file current limit.
  2. 2Identify the axis named in the alarm object, then compare the inverter unit's capacity rating on its nameplate against the current limit specified in the servo data file for that axis.
  3. 3If the inverter was recently replaced, verify the replacement unit is the same capacity as the original — a smaller unit will always raise this alarm.
  4. 4If the hardware is original, reload or correct the servo data file so its current limit matches the installed inverter's allowable current.
  5. 5If the correct data file and matching hardware still produce the alarm, record the alarm number and object axis and contact Okuma service.
