KUKA Robot KRC0934 - TYPE OF LEFT AND RIGHT HAND SIDE INCOMPATIBLE 2271

TYPE OF LEFT AND RIGHT HAND SIDE INCOMPATIBLE 2271

This alarm occurs when a KRL program object declares or uses left and right hand side (LHS and RHS) operands with incompatible data types in an assignment or operation. The compiler or runtime cannot reconcile the type mismatch between the variable being assigned to and the value or expression being assigned from it.

Common Causes

  • Attempting to assign a value of one data type to a variable of a different incompatible type
  • Using an array index or element type that does not match the expected operand type
  • Mixing structured types (e.g., FRAME, AXIS) with primitive types (e.g., REAL, INT) without proper conversion
  • Declaring function parameters or return types that do not align with actual argument or return value types
  • Using operator overloading or function calls where the LHS and RHS parameter signatures are incompatible

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Review the KRL source code at the line indicated in the error message to identify the problematic assignment or operation
  2. 2Verify that the data type of the variable on the left side of the assignment matches the data type of the expression on the right side
  3. 3Check function declarations and calls to ensure parameter types and return types are consistent and compatible
  4. 4Use explicit type conversion functions (e.g., REAL(), INT(), etc.) if intentional type casting is required
  5. 5Consult the KUKA KRL type system documentation to confirm valid type combinations for the operation being performed
  6. 6Recompile the KRL program after corrections and verify the alarm no longer appears during program execution
