KRC0922

KUKA Robot KRC0922 - OPERAND NOT EQUAL TO BOOL 2259

OPERAND NOT EQUAL TO BOOL 2259

This alarm occurs when a KRL program attempts to use a non-boolean operand in a context where a boolean value is required. The compiler detects a type mismatch where the operand at @P1@ cannot be implicitly or explicitly converted to a boolean data type.

Common Causes

  • Attempting to assign a non-boolean value (INT, REAL, STRING) to a BOOL variable without proper conversion
  • Using a non-boolean operand in a conditional statement (IF, WHILE, UNTIL) that expects boolean logic
  • Passing an incorrect data type as an argument to a function parameter expecting BOOL
  • Incorrect syntax in logical operations where a non-boolean expression is used with AND, OR, or NOT operators
  • Using comparison operators improperly or omitting them in conditional expressions

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Locate the line number referenced in the alarm message and review the operand at @P1@ in the source code
  2. 2Verify the data type of the variable or expression being used matches the expected boolean context
  3. 3Add explicit type conversion using BOOL() function if converting from numeric types, or use proper comparison operators (==, !=, <, >, <=, >=)
  4. 4Ensure all conditional statements contain valid boolean expressions with proper logical operators
  5. 5Check function definitions and declarations to confirm parameter types match the arguments being passed
  6. 6Recompile the KRL program after corrections and verify the alarm no longer appears
