KRC0816

KUKA Robot KRC0816 - NO “CASE” AFTER “SWITCH” 2152

NO “CASE” AFTER “SWITCH” 2152

This syntax error occurs when a SWITCH statement in KRL code is missing a required CASE clause. The SWITCH-CASE-DEFAULT control structure requires at least one CASE statement to follow the SWITCH declaration with a selector expression. The program cannot compile until the missing CASE clause is added.

Common Causes

  • SWITCH statement written without any following CASE clauses
  • CASE keyword accidentally deleted or missing from the program
  • Incorrect syntax structure where DEFAULT was used instead of CASE as the first clause
  • Copy-paste error that removed CASE statements during code editing
  • Incomplete refactoring of control flow logic that left SWITCH orphaned

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Open the KRL source file and locate line 2152 or the area flagged by the compiler error
  2. 2Identify the SWITCH statement that triggered the alarm
  3. 3Verify the syntax structure follows the pattern: SWITCH(<selector>) CASE <value1>: ... ENDSWITCH
  4. 4Add at least one CASE clause after the SWITCH statement with appropriate value comparisons
  5. 5Ensure each CASE clause contains valid executable statements before the next CASE or DEFAULT
  6. 6Recompile the program to verify the syntax error is resolved
