KRC0781

KUKA Robot KRC0781 - TYPE OF A PARAMETER IS DEFINED LOCALLY 2117

TYPE OF A PARAMETER IS DEFINED LOCALLY 2117

This alarm occurs when a parameter in a KRL program has a type definition that conflicts with or duplicates a type already defined in the local scope. The compiler detects that the parameter @P1@ is attempting to redefine or locally scope a type that creates an ambiguity or violation of type declaration rules.

Common Causes

  • Parameter type declared locally within a function when it should use a global type definition
  • Duplicate type definition for the same parameter in nested scopes or function overloads
  • Mixing implicit and explicit type declarations for the same parameter
  • Attempting to locally redefine a standard KUKA type (REAL, INT, BOOL, etc.) for a parameter
  • Parameter type defined both in function signature and in local variable declarations within the same function

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Review the function or module containing parameter @P1@ and identify all type declarations in the code
  2. 2Check the KRL source file for duplicate type definitions or conflicting parameter declarations
  3. 3Ensure parameter types are declared only once in the function signature, not repeated in local scope
  4. 4Verify that custom type definitions are declared globally (in DEF section) rather than locally within function bodies
  5. 5Remove any redundant or conflicting type qualifiers from the parameter declaration
  6. 6Recompile the program after corrections and verify the alarm no longer appears
