KUKA Robot KRC0648 - No block coincidence, step mode first

No block coincidence, step mode first

This alarm is triggered when attempting to transition the robot from STEP mode to AUTO mode without achieving block coincidence. Block coincidence ensures the robot program execution point aligns properly before changing operational modes.

Common Causes

  • Program pointer is not at a valid block boundary when mode change is initiated
  • Robot motion was commanded in STEP mode, leaving execution point misaligned
  • Interpreter internal state does not match the program structure due to motion commands
  • MODE switch on KUKA smartPAD was moved to AUTO while axis motion was still active
  • Program contains unsupported constructs that prevent block boundary alignment

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Return the MODE switch to STEP mode and press the HOME or INIT button to establish block coincidence
  2. 2Advance the program to the next valid block boundary using single step commands
  3. 3Verify that all axis motion has completed and the robot is in a stationary state
  4. 4Check the program structure in WorkVisual to identify any syntax issues affecting block alignment
  5. 5Press RESET on the KUKA smartPAD to clear the interpreter state and restart program execution
  6. 6If the alarm persists, reload the program from WorkVisual or use a known good backup program
