KRC0644

KUKA Robot KRC0644 - Not a DSE axis

Not a DSE axis

This alarm is generated when a tacho balance operation is requested for an axis that is not configured as a DSE axis on the installed Distributed Servo Electronics board. The specified axis either does not exist or is controlled by a different servo control architecture.

Common Causes

  • Axis number specified in tacho balance command does not correspond to any DSE axis in the system
  • DSE board does not include the targeted axis due to incomplete or incorrect system configuration
  • KRL program references legacy axis numbering that no longer matches current DSE hardware setup
  • Confusion between standard KRC servo axes and optional DSE expansion board axes
  • Incorrect WorkVisual hardware configuration where DSE axes are not properly registered in the controller

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Verify the axis identification number in the tacho balance command against the DSE board hardware documentation
  2. 2Check WorkVisual hardware configuration to confirm all DSE axes are properly declared and mapped
  3. 3Review the robot system configuration using KUKA smartPAD to list all available DSE axes
  4. 4Confirm the DSE board is physically installed and all necessary firmware updates are applied
  5. 5Correct the axis parameter in the KRL program to reference a valid DSE axis number
  6. 6If the required axis is not available on DSE board, contact KUKA to discuss hardware upgrade options
