KUKA Robot KRC0112 - DEFECTIVE DSE

DEFECTIVE DSE

This alarm indicates a software version mismatch between the DSE (Drive and Safety Electronics) module and the KRC controller firmware. The configured DSE software does not match the installed hardware version (DSEAT) or is incompatible with the KRC1A/KRC2 controller. This prevents proper communication and synchronization between the safety controller and the robot drive system.

Common Causes

  • Incorrect DSE firmware version loaded during controller initialization or update
  • DSE hardware (DSEAT) replaced with a different revision without updating corresponding software configuration
  • Corrupted or incomplete DSE software installation or file transfer
  • KRC controller firmware updated without corresponding DSE software update
  • Configuration file (.src or system parameters) references wrong DSE software version or type

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Verify the physical DSE hardware revision (DSEAT model number) installed in the control cabinet and compare against configured software version in KRC parameters
  2. 2Check the DSE software version in the KRC system configuration files and cross-reference with the KRC firmware version compatibility matrix
  3. 3Access the controller's system software update menu and confirm the DSE firmware version matches the KRC controller firmware release
  4. 4If versions are mismatched, obtain the correct DSE software package matching the hardware and update using the KRC software installation utility
  5. 5Perform a complete DSE firmware flash/reload procedure following KUKA's documented update process to ensure proper installation
  6. 6Clear any cached configuration parameters and perform a full controller restart to reload the corrected DSE configuration
