HEIDENHAIN 230-0475 - Fast input for spindle already defined

Fast input for spindle already defined

Spindle fast inputs are defined in both IOC file and configuration data. The configuration data entry takes precedence.

Root Cause Summary

Alarm 230-0475 occurs when fast inputs for spindle position feedback are configured in both the IOC file and machine parameters simultaneously. The TNC system detects this duplicate configuration and triggers the alarm since only one fast input definition per spindle is permitted.

Safety

  • Refer to Heidenhain service manual
  • Ensure qualified technician performs repairs

Causes and Fixes

  1. 1

    Access machine parameter menu

Press MOD key, select 'Machine Parameters', navigate to spindle configuration parameters MP7xxx series.

Use search function with '747' to quickly locate spindle fast input parameters

  2. 2

    Check MP7470 series parameters

Examine MP7470.x (Fast input assignment for spindle x) and verify if fast input channels are assigned.

Document current settings before making changes

  3. 3

    Review IOC file configuration

Access IOC file via TNCopt or file manager, search for FAST_INPUT entries related to spindle encoder signals.

Look for entries like 'FAST_INPUT_SPINDLE_x' in the IOC configuration

  4. 4

    Remove duplicate configuration

Delete either the IOC file entry or clear the machine parameter assignment, keeping only one configuration method active.

Machine parameter configuration takes priority over IOC settings

DIY Feasiblehigh confidence

Call a technician if:

  • ·IOC file corruption detected
  • ·Hardware fast input channels physically damaged
  • ·Multiple alarms persist after parameter corrections

Prevention

  • Always backup IOC and machine parameters before software updates
  • Document fast input channel assignments for multi-spindle machines
  • Use TNCopt configuration templates appropriate for software version

Common Mistakes

  • Clearing machine parameters without checking IOC file
  • Assigning same fast input channel to multiple spindles
  • Ignoring software version compatibility when using old IOC files
