Fanuc 519 - Spindle speed control error
Alarm 519 indicates the spindle drive cannot maintain the commanded speed within acceptable tolerance, or the actual spindle speed deviates significantly from the commanded speed. This typically occurs due to encoder feedback issues, drive parameter mismatches, mechanical overload conditions, or spindle drive hardware faults preventing proper speed regulation.
Fanuc 519 - Spindle speed control error
SPINDLE SPEED CONTROL ERROR
Fanuc spindle alarm 519: SPINDLE SPEED CONTROL ERROR. The spindle drive or spindle motor has detected a fault condition that requires diagnosis before spindle operation can resume.
Root Cause Summary
Alarm 519 indicates the spindle drive cannot maintain the commanded speed within acceptable tolerance, or the actual spindle speed deviates significantly from the commanded speed. This typically occurs due to encoder feedback issues, drive parameter mismatches, mechanical overload conditions, or spindle drive hardware faults preventing proper speed regulation.
Safety
Causes and Fixes
Check spindle encoder cable connections at both motor and drive ends for looseness, damage, or contamination. Reseat all connections firmly.
Lockout/tagout machine power before accessing electrical connections.
Using drive diagnostics or PMC ladder, monitor spindle encoder feedback signals (A, B, Z phases) while manually rotating spindle. Verify clean square wave signals without dropouts.
Check encoder mounting for looseness or mechanical damage. Verify encoder shaft coupling is secure and not slipping on spindle shaft.
If encoder signals are erratic or absent, replace spindle encoder and verify alarm clears. Record encoder type and parameters before replacement.
