Fanuc Alarm 463 - n AXIS: SEND SLAVE DATA FAILED
Fanuc Alarm 463 indicates a failure in FSSB (Fiber Optic Servo System Bus) communication when attempting to send data to a slave servo amplifier. This typically occurs due to physical fiber optic cable issues, faulty amplifier connections, or corrupted amplifier configuration data preventing proper master-slave communication on the serial servo bus.

Servo Alarm: Recv CRC Error
Fanuc servo alarm 463: Servo Alarm: Recv CRC Error. The servo system has detected a fault condition on the specified axis. Check the Fanuc diagnosis screen (DGN 200, 204) for the specific sub-alarm code.

Safety
Causes and Fixes
Power down the system. Inspect all FSSB fiber optic cables (orange cables) connected to the affected axis amplifier. Check for kinked, bent, or damaged cables and ensure minimum bend radius is maintained (typically 50mm).
Do not look directly into fiber optic cable ends - laser light can damage eyes.
Disconnect and reconnect all FSSB connectors at both the amplifier and CNC side. Clean fiber optic connector end faces with proper fiber cleaning tools or lint-free swabs with isopropyl alcohol. Inspect for cracks or contamination.
Check the amplifier LED indicators. A red LED or no LED on the affected amplifier indicates FSSB communication failure. Verify the FSSB OUT port of the previous amplifier connects properly to FSSB IN of the failed axis amplifier.
Navigate to SYSTEM > DIAGNOSIS > SERVO and check diagnostic screens 200-207 for FSSB communication status. Verify bit patterns show active communication. Check parameter 8100#0-#7 for correct axis assignment and verify parameters 8110-8117 match physical amplifier installation sequence.
