Siemens 300613 - Axis drive maximum permissible motor temperature exceeded

Axis drive maximum permissible motor temperature exceeded

1. The motor temperature (measured by the temperature sensor KTY 84 and fed to the module through the motor encoder cable) has exceeded the temperature limit in MD 1607: $MD_MOTOR_TEMP_SHUTDOWN_LIMIT (motor temperature shutdown limit). 2. The thermal motor monitoring has triggered because the thermal load on the motor model MD 1266 had reached the 100 value. The alarm can be reconfigured in MD ALARM_REACTION_CHAN_NOREADY (channel not ready) Control reaction: Mode group not ready. The NC switches to follow-up mode. Channel not ready. NC Start disable in this channel. Interface signals are set. Alarm display. NC Stop on alarm. Channel not ready.

Safety

  • Drive/power/encoder circuit: hazardous voltages may remain in the DC link after power-off. Lock out / tag out, wait for discharge per the drive documentation, and use qualified personnel only.
  • Hot surfaces and stored energy: allow the motor to cool and isolate power before working on the motor or encoder (lockout/tagout).

Common Causes

  • 1.
  • The motor temperature (measured by the temperature sensor KTY 84 and fed to the module through the motor encoder cable) has exceeded the temperature limit in MD 1607: $MD_MOTOR_TEMP_SHUTDOWN_LIMIT (motor temperature shutdown limit).
  • 2.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Please inform the authorized personnel/service department.
  2. 2Motor overloaded.
  3. 3Check the motor data.
  4. 4Possibly the machine current was too high as a result of incorrect motor data.
  5. 5Check the temperature sensor (2nd sensor possible with MSD).
  6. 6Check the motor encoder cable.
  7. 7Clear alarm with the RESET key in all channels of this mode group. Restart part program. 2-717
