Siemens 840D 22067 - Channel tool management: tool change not possible since there is no
Alarm 22067 fires when the NCK attempts a tool change but the target tool group contains no tools in 'Ready' state. This occurs when all tools in the group have been disabled by tool monitoring functions (wear limits exceeded, breakage detected) or are misconfigured in the tool table. The spindle cannot execute the M06 command without a valid tool candidate.

Safety
Causes and Fixes
Access Diagnostics > Tool Management > Tool State via HMI. Verify status of all tools in the affected group. Check for 'Disabled' or 'Defective' state indicators.
Review tool table (SD 43300-SD 43400 range) and check edge counters and life counters. Verify MD 11220 (tool life time) and MD 11225 (tool change strategy) are correctly configured for your application.
Do not arbitrarily reset tool counters without confirming actual tool condition; this bypasses wear protection.
Reset tool state via HMI Tool Management > Reset Tool or issue M01 (optional stop) followed by manual tool re-qualification if tools are reusable.
Cross-check MD 11210 is set correctly (0=disabled, 1=enabled). If wear monitoring is undesired for this application, set MD 11210 = 0 and reload NCK.
