Siemens 840D 15395 - Channel master-slave not executable during block search

Channel master-slave not executable during block search

A master-slave coupling is to be closed in the part program via the instruction MASLON. The position offset $P_SEARCH_MASLD, however, cannot be correctly calculated during block search, as the axes to be coupled are located in different channels.

Safety

  • Refer to Siemens documentation
  • Ensure qualified technician performs repairs

Common Causes

  • Master and slave axes assigned to different channels when MASLON instruction is executed during block search
  • Position offset $P_SEARCH_MASLD cannot be calculated across channel boundaries
  • Block search resumed or restarted with active master-slave coupling from previous program section
  • Incorrect channel configuration in machine data for coupled axes

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Verify master and slave axes are assigned to the same channel in machine data configuration
  2. 2Review part program logic to ensure MASLON instruction is not executed during active block search mode
  3. 3Check $P_SEARCH_MASLD parameter availability and ensure it is properly initialized before block search completion
  4. 4Restart block search after verifying all coupled axes are synchronized in the same channel
  5. 5If using multi-channel configuration, restructure program to execute MASLON coupling only after block search completes
