Siemens 840D 14760 - Channel block auxiliary function of a group programmed

Channel block auxiliary function of a group programmed

The M and H functions can be divided up as required over machine data in groups in any variation. Auxiliary functions are thus put into groups that mutually preclude several individual functions of one group. Within one group only one auxiliary function is advisable and permissible.

Safety

  • Refer to Siemens documentation
  • Ensure qualified technician performs repairs

Common Causes

  • Multiple M or H functions from the same group programmed in a single NC block
  • Machine data configuration for M/H function groups not properly defined or understood
  • NC program contains conflicting auxiliary functions that belong to the same functional group
  • Incorrect grouping assignment in machine data causing functions to be treated as group members when they should be independent

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Review the NC program at the specified block and identify all M and H functions in that single block
  2. 2Access machine data and verify the group assignments for the M/H functions being used - check which functions are assigned to which groups
  3. 3Separate conflicting auxiliary functions from the same group into different NC blocks to allow sequential execution rather than simultaneous programming
  4. 4Consult the machine tool builder's documentation to confirm correct grouping of M/H functions for your specific machine configuration
  5. 5Verify machine data entries for auxiliary function groups are correctly configured and test with a corrected NC program
