KUKA Robot KRC0178 - POINT CONVERSION IMPOSSIBLE WITHOUT ABSOLUTE ACCURACY MODEL

POINT CONVERSION IMPOSSIBLE WITHOUT ABSOLUTE ACCURACY MODEL

Point conversion cannot be performed because the absolute accuracy model is disabled while point conversion is enabled in the system configuration. The system variables $ABS_CONVERT and $ABS_ACCUR must both be set to TRUE when absolute accuracy conversions are required. Coordinate frame transformations will fail without the proper calibration model loaded.

Common Causes

  • $ABS_CONVERT set to TRUE in program without corresponding $ABS_ACCUR enabled in robot configuration
  • Absolute accuracy calibration model not loaded during robot initialization in WorkVisual
  • Manual editing of system configuration files disabled $ABS_ACCUR without updating dependent conversion flags
  • KRL program attempting point conversion on robot type not equipped with absolute accuracy hardware
  • Configuration mismatch between robot mechanical setup and controller software parameter settings

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Open the robot configuration in WorkVisual and verify $ABS_ACCUR parameter is set to TRUE
  2. 2Check that the absolute accuracy calibration data file is present in the robot data directory
  3. 3Review the KRL program logic to confirm $ABS_CONVERT is only used when $ABS_ACCUR is TRUE
  4. 4Perform a full system initialization from WorkVisual to reload all calibration models
  5. 5Verify the physical robot model matches the configured type and has absolute accuracy sensors installed
  6. 6If using legacy software, update to current KRC firmware that supports the absolute accuracy model
