Siemens 840D 61907 - Channel block: No center point specified for circle

Channel block: No center point specified for circle

Siemens SINUMERIK alarm 61907: Channel block: No center point specified for circle. This alarm indicates a fault or error condition on the SINUMERIK 840D control. Refer to the Siemens SINUMERIK alarm documentation for the complete description and remedy.

Root Cause Summary

Alarm 61907 occurs when CYCLE73, CYCLE74, or CYCLE75 (circular interpolation cycles) execute without a valid center point (I, J, K coordinates or CC command) defined in the NC block. The NCK cannot calculate the circular arc geometry without these essential parameters, causing the cycle to abort.

Safety

  • Refer to Siemens documentation
  • Ensure qualified technician performs repairs

Causes and Fixes

  1. 1

Check the NC program block syntax. Verify CYCLE73/74/75 call includes center point definition: either CC X... Y... Z... (absolute) or G02/G03 with I... J... K... (incremental offsets from start point).

Do not use radius format (R parameter) alone in circular cycles on SINUMERIK 840D; always specify I, J, K or use CC command.

  2. 2

Enable program trace (Diagnostics → Program Trace) and single-step to the failing block. Inspect the interpolator input buffer to confirm center coordinates are present before cycle execution.

  3. 3

Recalculate I, J, K offsets: I and J are incremental distances from start point to center in the XY plane; K is the Z offset. Verify mathematical correctness using the part geometry.

  4. 4

Re-test the corrected NC block with single-cycle execution (MDI mode) before rerunning the full program.
