Siemens 310753 - Axis drive D component for speed controller invalid

Axis drive D component for speed controller invalid

The D component of the speed controller is too high: - Modify MD 5431: SPEEDCTRL_DIFF_TIME_A (gain on A-side of cylinder edge) - or MD 5432: SPEEDCTRL_DIFF_TIME (gain for piston adjustment with lowest natural frequency) - or MD 5433: SPEEDCTRL_DIFF_TIME_B (gain on B-side of cylinder edge) Control reaction: NC not ready. The NC switches to follow-up mode. Channel not ready. NC Start disable in this channel. Interface signals are set. Alarm display. NC Stop on alarm. Channel not ready.

Root Cause Summary

This alarm occurs due to an invalid D component setting for the speed controller, often from incorrect machine data (MD) values. Fix by adjusting MD 5431, 5432, or 5433 as needed.

Safety

  • Drive/power/encoder circuit: hazardous voltages may remain in the DC link after power-off. Lock out / tag out, wait for discharge per the drive documentation, and use qualified personnel only.

Causes and Fixes

  1. 1

    Access Machine Data

Navigate to the machine data settings on the Siemens control panel.

  2. 2

    Adjust D Component Values

Modify MD 5431 (SPEEDCTRL_DIFF_TIME_A), MD 5432 (SPEEDCTRL_DIFF_TIME), or MD 5433 (SPEEDCTRL_DIFF_TIME_B) to lower the gain.

  3. 3

    Test and Restart

Save changes, clear the alarm, and restart the system to verify the fix.

DIY Feasiblehigh confidence

Call a technician if:

  • ·If adjustments to MD values do not resolve the alarm
  • ·If unsure about correct MD settings for the machine

Prevention

  • Verify MD settings during machine setup
  • Simulate programs to catch parameter issues early

Common Mistakes

  • Overlooking specific MD value limits
  • Failing to document original MD settings before changes
