Siemens 26200 - Block : The names of the kinematic chains $NK_CHAIN_NAME[ ]

Block: The names of the kinematic chains $NK_CHAIN_NAME

There are (at least) two kinematic chains with the same name. The names of the kinematic chains must be clear and identifiable Control reaction: Correction block is reorganized. Interface signals are set. Alarm display. Alarms.

Root Cause Summary

Alarm 26200 occurs when the NCK detects duplicate kinematic chain identifiers in the machine tool configuration. SINUMERIK requires unique names for each kinematic chain defined in the MD (Machine Data) parameters to properly map axis assignments and motion control logic.

Safety

  • Only qualified personnel should diagnose and clear control alarms; follow the machine builder's safety procedures and lockout/tagout where hardware work is required.

Causes and Fixes

  1. 1

Access Siemens SINUMERIK HMI menu: Diagnostics > Machine Data > expand MD10100 KINEMATIK_TYPE and review all kinematic chain entries for duplicate naming conventions.

Do not modify MD parameters during active machine operation or program execution.

  2. 2

Cross-reference kinematic chain names against axis declarations in MD20000 (AXCONF_MACHAX_NAME_TAB) and MD20050 (AXCONF_GEOAX_NAME_TAB) to identify conflicting identifiers.

  3. 3

Rename duplicate kinematic chains using unique identifiers (e.g., 'CHAIN_XY' and 'CHAIN_XY_2' instead of identical 'CHAIN_XY' entries). Ensure naming follows alphanumeric conventions without special characters.

Changes require complete NCK reset and machine parameter download via the HMI or SINUMERIK Operate interface.

  4. 4

Execute Diagnostics > Reset/Reload Machine Data, then cycle machine power off/on to reload the corrected kinematic configuration into NCK memory.
