Siemens 840D 20092 - Axis travel to fixed stop still active
Alarm 20092 fires when an NC block attempts axis movement while that axis is actively engaged in a fixed stop sequence (e.g., reference point approach via MD22200 REFP_TYPE or manual fixed stop via G60.4) or while the fixed stop deselection function has not completed its cycle. The NCK interpreter rejects the movement command because the axis is not in READY state as defined by the channel readiness condition.

Axis travel to fixed stop still active
Siemens SINUMERIK 840D alarm 20092: Axis travel to fixed stop still active. This alarm indicates a program or channel-level error on the SINUMERIK control. The part program or machine function cannot be executed as commanded.

Safety
Causes and Fixes
In MDI or Program mode, check active axis status via Diagnostics → Axis → State. Verify if axis shows 'REFP_ACTIVE' or 'FIXED_STOP' state rather than 'READY'.
Do not attempt to jog or program-move the axis while state displays FIXED_STOP.
Review NC program logic: confirm no movement command follows immediately after REFP call. Insert explicit G4 dwell (MD22210 REFP_DWELL_TIME value + margin, typically 0.5–2 seconds) or check MD22200 REFP_TYPE parameter—Type 1 requires full fixed stop cycle completion.
If using manual fixed stop (G60.4 or equivalent PLC-triggered stop), verify the stop deselection command completes before next axis move. Check PLC program logic in NCK/PLC menu under Axis Control for fixed stop release timing.
Verify MD22210 REFP_DWELL_TIME and MD22201 REFP_CLEARANCE_TIME are set appropriately (typically 100–500 ms). If values are excessive, reduce them; if zero, increase to at least 100 ms to allow hardware handshake completion.
