KRC0511

KUKA Robot KRC0511 - Mailbox identification not allowed

Mailbox identification not allowed

This alarm occurs when an invalid or non-existent mailbox identifier (MBX_ID) is passed to the MBX_REC C function during inter-process communication. The KRC controller cannot process the receive operation because the specified mailbox does not exist or is not accessible to the calling process.

Common Causes

  • MBX_ID parameter references a mailbox that was never created or has been deleted
  • Typo or incorrect mailbox identifier value in the C function call
  • Mailbox created in a different process with insufficient access permissions
  • Using an uninitialized or null MBX_ID variable in the function argument
  • Mailbox identifier exceeds the maximum allowed value or uses reserved/invalid ID range

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Verify the MBX_ID value matches a mailbox that was successfully created using MBX_INIT or equivalent function
  2. 2Check the process scope and permissions - ensure the mailbox is accessible from the calling process context
  3. 3Review the source code containing the MBX_REC call and confirm the MBX_ID variable is properly initialized
  4. 4Verify mailbox creation occurs before the MBX_REC call and the mailbox has not been destroyed prematurely
  5. 5Consult the KRC system logs and task creation records to confirm all mailbox initializations were successful
  6. 6Test with a known valid MBX_ID or create a new test mailbox to isolate whether the issue is specific to this identifier
