Fanuc SV0406 - Servo Alarm: Axis Disconnected
SV0406 occurs when the CNC loses communication with a servo amplifier on the FSSB (Fanuc Serial Servo Bus) or the amplifier loses its ready status. This is typically caused by physical connection issues, amplifier hardware failure, or power supply problems to the drive.
Fanuc SV0406 - Servo Alarm: Axis Disconnected
SERVO ALARM: n AXIS DISCONNECTED
Fanuc SV0406 indicates the servo amplifier for the specified axis has been disconnected or has lost its ready status. The CNC detected the axis drive is no longer present on the FSSB bus or has gone offline unexpectedly.

Safety
Causes and Fixes
Power down the machine completely and lock out electrical supply.
HIGH VOLTAGE PRESENT - Follow all lockout/tagout procedures before opening cabinets.
Inspect FSSB cable connections at both the CNC control unit and the affected servo amplifier. Check for bent pins, corrosion, or debris in connectors.
Firmly reseat both ends of the FSSB cable. If daisy-chained to multiple drives, check all intermediate connections in the bus chain.
Power up and monitor for alarm recurrence. If alarm persists, replace the FSSB cable with a known good cable and retest.
